Behind Enemy Lines
This videoconference introduces pupils to Noor Inayat Khan, a member of the Special Operations Executive (played by an historical interpreter).
It is 1943 and Khan is imprisoned at Pforzheim Prison. Pupils will play the role of 'trainee agents', preparing for their first mission in the field, as Khan shares information about her life and her experiences as an SOE agent. She will discuss her role as a Wireless Operator in France, the break-up of the Prosper Network and the betrayal that led to her arrest. Pupils will have the opportunity to question Khan about her SOE training and her survival in the field.
A pack of preparation materials, including documents from Noor Khan's SOE file and information from the SOE Training Syllabus, will be made available to pupils in advance of the session.
This session can be delivered as a videoconference or virtual classroom.
