Afrikan Quest

The site provides accurate and considered information in both visual and audio form as a means of countering negative stereotypes. Previous projects have included an exploration of the concepts of freedom and prison held by those of African descent, a filmed drama about a young offender and a recorded exploration of the concepts of 'unity' and 'community' among a group of Afrikan women.

All of the material produced by Afrikan Quest is recorded onto visual or audio CDs and is available for sale from the website. CDs, which include interviews, arts, current affairs, history, mental health, religion and music, cost approximately £5.00 for one disc.

The site also provides information about 'Nubiart', Afrikan Quest's weekly Africentric arts, social and current affairs radio programme, aired on Sound Radio, 1503 AM, on Friday evenings at 10.00pm.

The main contact for the site, and for queries about available CDs or for ways that you might get involved in the organization, is also the author of a recently conducted interview with Akyaaba Addai Seebo, who is credited with establishing Black History month in Britain in 1987. This interview, recorded on CD is also available from the website.

Information about the discussion board which is featured on this latter site is also held on the Real Histories Directory (See 'Nuture Success Web Community').
