Real Histories Directory Internship - Autumn Period
Runnymede is looking for an intern to work on the Real Histories Directory. The Directory was set up by Runnymede as an online resource tool for teachers, parents, pupils and the wider community to encourage teaching and learning about cultural diversity across the UK. The Directory includes information on culturally diverse toys and games, dual language bookshops, museums, libraries, performance artists and organisations providing resources on citizenship, race equality and human rights in the UK. The intern would be responsible for:
- Researching and writing the regular 'Website of the Month' feature
- Maintaining and updating resources in the Directory
- Updating the Events pages
Internships are ideal for those who are studying, have recently graduated, or are looking to build experience and RHD will be of particular value to those with an interest in the field of education. Internships normally last for four to six weeks but in this instance, we are also looking for someone who would be able to make a longer commitment to the project. Internships at Runnymede are unpaid, though travel expenses will be covered.
If you are interested in taking up a position as an intern with RHD, please send a CV and covering letter detailing what kind of experience you hope to gain, a short example of your written work (essay, article, research paper...) and details of when you will be available to join us (days per week/over which period). If your application is successful, one of our researchers will contact you to arrange an interview.
